New Bed for Lindi

Here is the bed that I slept in during my teenage years. It came from Grandma's Grandma. She told me which relative it belong to, but I didn't get that printed before the email got deleted. She will have to tell me once again. Sorry Grandma. Like any antique, it came the the paint chipping off and many colors showing. Ethan's soccer coach chromes and powder coats anything. I brought the bed in to him and they sand blasted all the paint off and then powdered coated the cast iron bed. It looks better then when I had it. We have it on risers so that we can fit a trundle under for any company that comes our way. Hint Hint. Lindi likes that fact that she has to jump onto her bed. We painted her room last summer so now we will be decorating with black accents. Thanks Grandma for the bed, I'm glad you saw fit to give it to me and not my sisters. :) I hope there are still benefits from being the oldest grandaughter.

Christmas Morning

Christmas was coming and we couldn't get to where we wanted to be. The Northwest had gotten hit with cold, snowy, icy, weather the week of Christmas and the road we needed to take was closed. Wednesday morning I woke with the job of getting a Christmas dinner together. With that done, we enjoyed our Christmas with the kids' cousins and aunt and uncle.
This is my version of the stairs on Christmas morning. I've been in the house for 10 years and this is the first. It was 6am and Lindi was sick. Fever and sore throat that turned out to be strep. The boys got and X-Box 360 and Lindi got a new bedroom comforter with pillows, shams, throw and all. She wants a black and white room.
Cam, Sara and Spencer were able to come south so we were together Christmas and on Friday. Nancy had gotten us the Pictionaryman game and we all had a great time playing that game. Catch Prase and the Totally Insane card game were the other games we played. We have been playing games for family home evening for months now and Darin said he hasn't seen me so competitive. He had to remind me that we were trying to make memories and beating a 10 year old at any cost was not the point. I guess that is grandma coming out in me.
We will try to get to Darin's folks house next week for the New Year.
